i've noticed that when someone from the forum downloads your song, it only lists the city and not the user. i know of at least two instances where a user from the site downloaded a song from my profile. their city is obviously listed. not a big deal, since mainly it's the location that counts. it is cool to see who from the site is listening.
next, i've also noticed that the map doesn't record each song the person plays, even when they come back to listen after a period of time. it's like it records the IP address and the first link the click only. is that close to correct? i'm not sure if that's really a bug or a way to cut down on the amount of information being stored. i imagine that this technology wasn't exactly created for tracking the individual listens but just the location of the listener.
all in all, i still love the map. i sometimes wonder if it's recording every play, since otherwise i'd have at least 5-10/day between the two profiles, even providing for single users playing/downloading multiple tracks. not sure if there's really anything to resolve, but i wanted to bring it to your attention if you weren't already aware. thanks!  |

i kinda noticed the specific town / city issue, but just figured it was where the local exchange was for the internet supplier, in saying that a few of them are quite specific, presumably as well it doesnt record 'guest' listens... can people do that here??...lol.. i dunno...but that could be where your 5 / 10 listen are coming from if they can do that.... anyways... im pooped... of to bed guys.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....  |

on the downloads map, it's only showing about 35 of the 109 total downloads i have for the audio audio companion profile.   (the pirate is robing the other guy, but he's got no booty.) |

It will only show on IP Address, so if the same person downloads 3 songs, it only shows the last one they downloaded. The idea is that we want to show every 'unique' location, not necessarily every download. |

my point is that it is missing some people all together. it only showed a small fraction of the downloads. i also know how the downloads are distributed, meaning it would indicate people downloading the same song multiple times, not the other way around. i already realized how the map worked a while back. this is abnormal after doing the math. |
