southerners and their mater samiches. my grandpa used to eat those like mad. with all the acidity, sounds like a cold sore waiting to happen. may favorite has to be the classic turkey club, but made with turkish flat bread heated in the oven, separate the big bastard into two halves and split it lengthwise. then just turkey and breakfast bacon (or danish bacon if you want to be decadent, and ukrainian bacon if you want your heart to stop - it's just salt cured belly fat with a hint of meat ), add cheese if you want, and throw it back in the oven to toast it. then add shredded lettuce, tomato and mayo. oh, instead of the turkey breast you buy in the package, cook your own turkey breast and slice it thin. it tastes so much better than the stuff from the package. using a turkish flat bread is nice because you can feed like 5 people with the one sadwich.
chicken kip is also good, but i like to add a bit of fresh coriander in mine.
an now i've earned 20 points just describing a sandwich! |

you'd have to go to a russian delicatessen to find it, but ukrainian bacon is really just a cut of the fattiest part of the pig belly. under where you cut to get breakfast bacon. there's almost no meat, just salt cured fat. it's great on a slice of black bread (a dark rye bread) in really thin slices with thinly sliced garlic. i've never found it over here, but also haven't really looked for it. my wife won't touch the stuff, so i rarely even got it when i lived in germany. some friends of ours would give me some once in a while. it almost melts in your mouth. danish bacon is also pretty fatty, but has a lot more meat on it that breakfast bacon. it's basically really fatty ham in quarter inch thick slices. also great for grilling or frying up to throw on sandwiches by itself.
i'm currently working on a cookbook entitiled, Meals that will kill you within a week which i expect to release posthumously. you can tell it from the photos on the band profile, but i'm 5'5" and weigh 350 kg. i don't need to use EZ fret or any of that kind of stuff because my hands are always greasy. you can't see it in the photos, but there's a half-eaten buffalo wing in the head stock next to my cigarette. as part of our guarantee, they keep icy cold glasses of ranch dressing ready, which i drink throughout the show. all right, even that on made me gag. now i need to go vomit. |
