i suppose you could also ask youself : ' what band or artist haven't you listened or gotten into yet knowing that one day you should?
I'll start with Genesis, the cure, most classical music dudes, 2pac, bill evans and the rolling stones... |

i think he was just listing bands and music he really likes, and classical composers were one of the things he listed. he didn't mean genesis is classical, because they aren't. classic rock, but not classicAL. |

classic... seriously though, id like to think if ive heard of them i would have checked them out.... though in saying that, its hard with bands like 'Genesis' because theve done so many songs in so many different styles... 90% of which im not a fan of... 10% i think are great... this makes it really hard to think when to stop checking them out and start checking out someone else.... i have gone wild and collected one groups whole discograpy pretty much before... i did it with 'Iron Butterfly'... i got like 7 albums only to realise i didnt like 90% of theyre stuff either... that sucked.... |

very good point FaceFitz
Thats one of the main reasons i still havnt got into Genesis
some completely outstanding songs and then the rest i have trouble with
but the same happened when i stated listening to Zappa. Fortunetly, with time, i accepted most of what he did. Took me two good years through.
Yea, iron butterfly i barely know aswell
And same applies to King Crimson, I only know their 2 fist albums.
Oh if i can suggest one of the best albums ever (yea i know, ridiculous thing to say, but for some albums its just the only way to descbibe them), check out 'Matching Mole' the studio album
by Matching Mole. Group founded by Robert Wyatt after he left Soft Machine.

I have to name artists here since that's what I've been missing out on.
- Barry Manilow
- Tom Jones
- BB King |

robert plant was never in the yardbirds...or maybe you're just making another connection from the yardbirds to led zeppelin via jimmy page, who was a yardbird after eric clapton. of course, what 60's british breakout solo artist wasn't a yardbird at one time.
hmmm, back to the original question, "band or artist haven't you listened or gotten into yet knowing that one day you should? "
einsturzende neubauten come to mind. i've got a lot of them covered, though. i'll have to return. |
