i realized today that my radio station only streams in hi-fi. i checked to see if the lo-fi creator worked on it, but, as i assumed, it didn't. does anyone know how to do this?
thanks. |

HA HA HA, and you call me 'hard work' mate..... lmao....
You should be a professional 'bug' catcher man....
ive never looked into the lo-fi thing, i always presumed everyone nowdays has good enough bandwith etc to go for hi-fi, s'pose that could be a silly presumption to make though really...
do you get a lot of lo-fi listeners in relation to your hi-fi listeners gorgatron??
been meaning to change my page around a touch anyways so i might wait a bit, see how this goes and add lo fi to my songs too...
anyway good luck... |

surprisingly, we get quite a few lo-fi listens in relation to hi-fi. i'd say it works otu to be about 30% or more of our plays. here in the US there are still a lot of people that live to far away from any urban areas to get high-speed service other than satellite. satellite is pretty affordable now, but it's taking a while to catch on and still doesn't work for some areas. i'm not sure what other people's experience with lo-fi is, though. i'd say that anyone doing acoustic, folk, blues, country, or any other type of music that might appeal to rural listeners should have lo-fi versions of their tracks available. |

good point, good point mate... ever the thinker eh???
ill have a go with the lo-fi i think, as i say ive never gave it the time of day, but in fairness we have alot of people over here who are 'too far away from the exchange' to experience the full power of the cable bandwidth they are paying for.... and satellite is also far to over-looked in terms of service for the user here too... it really has bought itself inline with its competitors, and is a genuine alternative really nowdays... but im lazy and what ive got works....lol....although i'm not that far from the exchange myself!!...lol...otherwise satellite would be on the cards!!!
good luck with the prob guys...

Radio stations pull the songs you choose from the database and put them into a radio playlist. Since some listeners like hifi and some like lofi, it was necessary to make the radio stations choose one of those formats at creation. You will need to create a duplicate station and set it to lofi, then add songs to it as well.
Some artists only upload hifi, and some lofi (and some both). The song must exist in the format (hifi/lofi) for the station you are creating in order to be added to that stations playlist.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense. I'm tired... I'll try again tomorrow |

makes perfect sense actually. in fact it makes so much sense that i should have though of that myself. if all it's doing is playing files off your database that i've just added to a customized playlist, it would only make sense the format for the station would match the songs. and we wouldn't have the option to alter the format of material we don't own. gotcha.
now i feel stupid. for all i know i was prompted to select hi- or li-fi when first putting the station together. i guess was just hoping for a nice, simple magic button that would save me from having to put forth any more effort. you've foiled my plans for the last time....today...., minuse! and thanks for the reply. |
