Sorry if this is obvious...

On band pages you can rate tracks excellent, very good etc. How does this affect the charts, and where can I check how my tracks have been rated...if they've been rated, that is.

Thanks

Laughing Laughing

The rating feature was a recent addition and I'm just waiting for enough songs to get rated and I will add that output to the genre pages and probably make a "master" as well like the charts!!!

I'll try and get that up this weekend!!!

Yes, not too smart of me, that. I feel like I've moved into a new neighbourhood and I'm walking around trying to find the supermarket and a nice place to eat.

Seems like there's some interesting new buildings going up to. Very Happy

Looking forward to watching it all develop.

Thanks for the feedback!!!! It's great to see new new faces, especially those as talented as The Foreboding!!!!

Since you're new to the site, your feedback is very helpful, let me know what you like and don't like, and what features you think would make us better!!!

Take care,
Ron

Talented? You must be thinking of someone else. Laughing

OK, you asked for it, so here's what I've noticed in my first couple of days in the neighbourhood.

GOOD:
Site layout. Looks great.

Page statistics The breakdowns of listens and in particular is pretty interesting.

General atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. You feel like getting involved and active on the boards.

BAD:
No site FAQ. Obviously most things are fairly obvious, but some I can't figure out at all.

eg: Comments. 'Make sure you add some comments or your page will look really bare'. But I can't see a comments page that looks bare. I go to other artists' pages and click on 'comments' and I get an email box So I emailed myself praising my music to the high heavens. It felt good, but it didn't bring up a comments page...I must be missing something again.

Can't get the lofi encoder to work. No major problem, but if it's there it should work.

No 'Home' button on artist page. It would be nice to be able to navigate back to the top page from anywhere.

Feedback on songs: it would be nice to have this on the page with the songs rather than via email. (I think you said you were working on this.)

That's all I've got for now. It looks like more negatives than positives, but that's not the case. The site has a great vibe to it. Very glad I signed up. Very Happy

ImL... Your all-time plays should not have gone down... UNLESS..... you removed a song that had some plays??? I think I read on another post you deleted a song and then added another one?

Your total plays is made up of EACH of your song play totals. If you delete a song, you delete the plays associated with that song. Maybe that's what happened????

AWESOME!!!! This is EXACTLY the kind of feedback I like!!! I really love to know what people think as they browse around the site!!! I appreciate it!

1)Site FAQ.... Great point.. In fact minusmetoo (my wife..LOL) is putting together the FAQ right now! It will be EXTENSIVE and should really be a great tool for new members!

2)Make sure you add comments.... This is a holdover from a previous theme and should have been removed! Just needed someone observant to mention it... THANKS!!!!! I have corrected it. I actually hope to redesign the whole intro page when you login to page manager soon.

3)Lo-Fi Encoder.... I just fixed the bug that was causing the problem. We just moved to a new server and I forgot to enable it!!! OUCH!!!!!

4)Home Button on artist page.... Hmm... The artist "home" page is actually the 'music' page. If I change the wording I wonder if some people would be confused as to where the MUSIC was once they navigated away and there was no "music" link at the top??? I'll have to ponder that one... Good comment though! (or did you mean a link back to the Unsigned Band Web Home page???)

5)Feedback on songs.... yes!!! This is absolutely on the list for features to add. I hope to get it added soon!!!!

Exclamation Arrow Exclamation Thanks again for your great comments. They really help me shape the direction of the site!!!!

Take care,
Ron

It took me a while to find it, but there is a way to get pack to the home page: it's a link at the bottom center of the screen.

Ha-HAAAA (again)...Thanks Lazlow. That's a good tip.

Minusme, glad some of that was useful; it's always good to help out. Looking forward to seeing how you implement the comments on tracks.

One last thing: is there no overall chart? Or am I missing it again? Wink

Jon,

The "charts" link at the very top of the ubw home page is an overall list of the top plays based on the previous 7 days. All genres are included in this list.

The "Popular genres" links on the left hand side of the ubw home page are specific only to those genres. As additonal songs get uploaded in genres that aren't listed currently, those genre's will be added to the section as well.

Hope this helps!
Shannon
