It seems that todays youth is fascinated by music from the 60's and 70's, is this true?????
the reason i ask is.......we are putting together a set list and this question came up,
also,,,i noticed at Karoke, young people singing songs from that era...damn i feel old...lol
what do you guys think??? |

i think this is true because all of their parents listned to that type of music and now they're influencing their kids |

Well, thats true, however, my parents listened to The Ventures,Beach Boys, Elvis etc...
but didnt influence my musical taste....unless im the exception???....lol |

Well 60s and 70s is alright to me. I dont listen to it often, just maybe several aritsts from that era. Sometimes a lot of the music from those times tend to sound the same, but the same thing could said about today's music so i dont know. I'm more fascinated about music from the 80s & 90s. |

I'm 25 and i love the stuff from the 60's and 70's. That's real music before it got corrupted. |

Maybe it's because there are a lot of bands these days that are making music in the old-skool style, with the old-skool sound to it. Eg - Wolfmother or The Mercy Arms.
Kids hear this stuff and then they get into that style of music. They find out who these bands are influenced by and go and listen to the 'ols-skool' bands...
just my theory. (plus i like using the term 'old-skool'!)

but i do like a couple of songs from the 70's.

well im coming up 19 and im stuck in the 80s, its when all the best bands where out i do listen to some older stuff coz i was raised on it like meatloaf, acdc and alice cooper but im more motley crue and guns and roses, i dont think i really know that many songs from the 60s although they did have flower power god i would be cool to be an old hippy i just feel like an aging rocker

I love music from the 60s and 70s. And some stuff from the 80s and 90s. And a lot of stuff from the 50s and 40s. Hell, I've got tons of stuff on my iPod from the 20s and 30s. But maybe that's just me.
