i know that this is an old subject that has been discussed in the past probably, but give me your thoughts
so, who is the better lyricist??
for me, it would have to be Nas, illmatic is killin jay. no disrespect to jay, but i think he lacks some depth. but both of them are fallin off...... |

Jay is on some party shit right now and Nas u never know wit him he can give u something hot like "where them gangstas at? where them dimes at?" or get 2 deep like level 7 wit nashaun but Nas smashed jay in the battle and has more classic albums then jay but i like jay 2 4 his business sense i'm a hustler homie. h to the o v |

cant deny jay's business sense, but then again, Nas has him beat on lyrics and skill, i mean, i f jay gets money thats tight, but it dont do me any good. but if Nas has some tight raps, that i can listen to, that does affect me.
so i say: Nas for hip hop skill
Jay Z for business smarts and marketability |
