New Theme!!!!

I just finished creating the new "default" theme for the Unsigned Band Web!!! It's called UBW_Gray! The new theme add's some stats to the top, and shows visitors the last time you updated your page at the bottom. There is also a link at the top to play ALL HIFI or LOFI songs. Should help get additional plays!!! The new page is also "DYNAMIC" based on what account you have.

For Free Members: I have added a "RADIO STATIONS" page that shows the radio stations you've created, as well as the number of plays each of them has, AND a link to the playlists for each of them.

For Paying Members: In addition to the "RADIO STATIONS" page, you also get an "UPCOMING SHOWS" page. This is the first step to creating a "master" gig calendar that fans can search for from the home page. Premium members also get an "on-line" store to sell their albums, or other merchandise... I will be adding a "store front" soon so that our visitors can search for all items for sale by genre. This should bring in more sales!

New Rating System... I have also added a new rating system, so that your songs can be rated by visitors to your site. I will be adding a "RATING" subpage to the home page once we have enough songs rated. FOR PAYING MEMBERS: You can have your songs REMOTELY RATED, let me know if you would like to have songs rated from YOUR OFFICIAL website and I will send you the code. (The current link is right next to the song title on your music page)

*Song comments now appear right next to your song (instead of by link)

*The default start page is now the music page instead of the "news" page. Many bands weren't using the news, so their start page looked empty. Don't forget, you can use www.unsignedbandweb.com/yourbandname as your URL. You don't have to use the numbered system that shows up in your browser.

Finally, PREMIUM MEMBERS, you still have access to ALL the old themes if you prefer them. I will add some additional PREMIUM MEMBER themes as soon as I can.

Please let me know what you think about the new theme, It is another step along the way to making this the best ONLINE MUSIC community on the internet!!! There's lots more in store!!!! It's a great time to UPGRADE your membership!!!! Wink

My bio seems to be missing from my song page. I checked the page manager and the info is still there. Is the artist bio now only for premium members? That's cool if it is, because I appreciate all the stuff you do for free. Cool

I just went to your page and the bio is there.. Can you check again and let me know if you still don't see anything. The bio should show up on every page!

I see my name in italics and "-Bio" but that's all. I tried clicking on it, but it's not a link.

Maybe the problem is with my PC. I downloaded the Microsoft Service Pack yesterday and had to reset some of my internet options. Any suggestions?

Well, The bio is now in a frame, so it's possible that your service pack is keeping your from viewing frames. BUT.... then again the Band-Bio verbage is in the frame as well!!

This is a weird one!

Can you see other bands bios? Is anything else from your page appear missing?

We are talking about www.unsignedbandweb.com/Paul_Glidden right??? I just visited it again, and everything looks great!

Can we get a second voice here? Would someone mind visiting the above link and letting us know if you see the bio text??

I just had an epiphany....

Did you write your bio as a "message" or as a "bio"? In the old theme, the bio was on the left, and the messages were on the right. (on the home page)

In the new theme, the "bio" is at the top, and the songs are underneath. The "messages" information is now under the "news" link at the top of your page.

(If this is the case, just move your bio from your messages to the actual bio. Then you can use the messages page for other news.)

I just tried to play your song again and got the same thing. What did you use to convert it to mp3????

What is missing is all the info that was found on the "About" page. (Members, Location, Website, Genre, Sounds like, Background, Website, etc.)

By the way, my message and the links in it are still working. As are the songs.

Also, I went to Rec.hat's page and this is what I saw:

Ha ha. I didn't mean anything my that. Ron asked me to check out other artists' pages for bios.

By the way, I solved the problem. I simply imported all the info I wanted into the "modify artist/background" section of the page manager.

LOL.... Rec.Hat has the "deepest" bio!!!

Lazlow.. I know what you're talking about now...

The "bio" or "background" IS what you have on your home page now, and you can modify this to whatever information you like.

The OTHER info that used to be on the contact page has been removed because honestly I didn't think anyone used it, so I just took the "contact" form and made it the link, instead of all the "soundslike" , "band members", etc... The bands you put in the "soundslike" ARE still used by the search engine on the home page, they just don't show on your page.

If you think it's important, I will figure out a way to work it back on the page somewhere.

Actually, it's pretty cool the way it is. Instead of the old way where an artist answered questions, now the artist can write whatever they feel is relavent.
