Man woman situation - these two people are in the same band.

What would you do if this was your group...
Would you allow it?
Or would you make a big fuss and tell them to find love elsewhere?

This has allready happened in my band. I just want to know what you guys would do.
Just wanted to get an idea of what others would do in this situation as it affects every one in the band? any way please respond...

Well I am in a band with my huband! We met through the band and we have been fine after 7 years of making music! If the couple are professional enough then they will put there differences aside for the music! If I am mad at my man I don't take it with me to work that is totally seperate!
The best thing to do is to talk about your worries with them !They probably already are worried them selves!
It can be risky to fall in love in a band but it can also lead to something great! I hope that helps!

as long as it doesn't hinder creativity. i know for me if i'm happy in a relationship, in order to make music i can't be around the one i'm with. just doesn't come to me. so this wouldn't work for me. but i know others that are in bands with their signifigant others and both their relationships and music careers are thriving.

Well here is the full story up to this point... The band right now has been on a months leave due to an injury to our drummer.

The dating issue goes like this... The girl in this situation was married when she joined the band. It was a rocky situation that lead to divorce which the guy didn't even fight just let it happen. The male band member has been divorced for over 7 years and has only dated 3 other women since he became a free agent.

They were actually dating while she was still married once the truth came out...
I discussed this situation with the male band member since we go back many years. We discussed the problems that may occur and how they would affect the band etc... He said that she was different "She's an angel..." etc... So I backed off....

We have been in the studio recording our album to be released in December 2004. We have drafted a contract with an entertainment attorney and have begun some background work to promote the CD.

The clincher is that now the honey moon is over... I've heard from another band member
that the Male band member now says "I can't stand her anymore.... I don't even want to be her friend..."

The band member listening to him cry about the situation wants to get rid of her...
I am like all the work that we've done will be for sh** . All the time invested etc... would have been waisted! This attorney we've been dealing with has helped friends of ours get music in a movie sound track and has some very good connections...

I am besides my self....

Would appreciate some honest feed back...

Thank you all in advance for reading this post as I am venting big time. Shocked

No one says you have to like someone to be in a band with them. David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen coexisted for years. Same with The Police. Sometimes, a little tension can be a good thing.

I agree with Drewphoria!!!! Many of the greatest bands of all times had crazy love triangles running throughout!

Fleetwood Mac comes to mind!!!!

I would recommend a serious talk with both of them about where their priorities are and coexisting for the benefit of the band!!!!

Sorry to hear your in a tight spot!!! Good luck!!
