as a bit of a follow-up/ sister topic to bssgrl's recipe thread, I've thought about different foods and how they're s'posed to be made. I'll start:
Power went out in lieu of a "hurricane"- we made bagels on the grill |

Power Cut ... no electricity
Beans and toast made with a Gas blow torch
... does toast ... really really fast
.... and no dishes to wash .....
I think every kitchen should have one. |

dear lord.. you have topped me effortlessly. Might I inquire where you got the blow torch? My god that's hilarious.. Good job.
Grilled Cheese- not on the grill. in a pan, on the stove. |

hot dog sausages heated up in a kettle... you might need to tape the switch in the on position... this action is not in the kettles instruction leaflet for some reason... |

other catering tricks:
steaks from rare to well done in 20 seconds in the microwave.
peas, half a teaspoon of butter, in a cup covered in cling film... micro for 1 to 2 mins
crisp up roast potatos... in the deep fat fryer.
reheat yorkshire puddings.... by floating them in the deep fat fryer and prodding them with a wooden spoon..
the list gos on :-) |

my gosh- very nice.. backpacking meal here: plain tyson chicken breast (out of packet) and some mystery seasoning one of the dads in the scout troop has. toss that and some rice in a stove and you've got a very good meal with deadly "anal" consequences if you catch my drift.. |

I know this isn't the weirdest one, but any sort of cake made in the microwave. involves a large amount of sour cream or plain yogurt. very nice if not overcooked. My brother practically fried on once... we still ended up eating it- we could've broken teeth! |

So .... I'm driving past this famous Salmon pool .... its just after dawn ..... I lift my Poachers rod from the back of the car ...... 2nd cast ..... I get a nice 9lb Salmon.
Take the tin foil off my sandwiches .... wrap the salmon up in it ... cut into nice even sections... stick it on the manifold of the engine ...... 15 miles later .... i'm sitting at the side of the road tucking into the nicest bit of salmon I have ever tasted. |

guitarist- soggy chicken. phew. I cry for you my friend. I like the idea of salmon on the engine/exhaust smoking, even though I'm not a big fish eater.. I can't think of any more that I've done.. poo... |
