Good questions!
Points..
Points do not expire, you earn them from reviewing bands and lyrics in the forums. The do not go out of date, you just keep building them until you decide to cash them in towards merch. The points store was just launched last weekend, so currently there are ubw tshirts, mugs, and stickers, as well as some options for artists. I will be adding CD's and gear from UBW artists in the future so you will have more to choose from! I will also be adding additional ways to earn points.
As far as talking to people.
We have the forums, chat rooms, and the Private Messaging system for members to communicate. Each of our artists also has a guestbook, song comments, and contact link on their artist pages. If you think we are missing something, let me know!
Thanks for your questions!!! I will be adding a 'how to earn points' link in the store very soon which should help people figure out how many points they earn for various activites. Ultimately it's all about getting feedback to artists who are desperate for it, and making it fun at the same time.
I would love to hear any other thoughts you have on the site. I'm here so much that sometimes I miss out on obvious things!
Take care and great to have you here!!!!

I noticed you uploaded some pictures to your personal photo gallery and they appear correct. You must mean your 'profile pic'. To get this to display, you need your picture to be no bigger than 80 x 80 pixels and you upload it through your profile. You can get to your profile through the profile link at the top of the forums. Scroll down to the bottom until you see "Upload your profile image", and choose an image to upload. If you don't have a way to edit your image to 80x80 pixels, just upload it to your personal gallery and tell me which picture you want to use, and I can resize it for you.
