Hey Everyone,
This is a new one that I wrote for about 3-4 hours today (yesterday). It's somewhat about what I hope happens with my possible music skills, but more-so it compares how I look at trying to do music, and the way a lot of people in society think about that view. Many people go to a job that they hate, 6 days a week, and they only do it, because they know that if they don't, they could put their own life along with their family's lives on the line (financially). These are the people seem to think that trying to pursue music has no possibility of ever working out good for anyone. It is a very small chance, but it does happen. I prefer to acknowledge that it's possible, keep hope that someday I get lucky with it, and try to think of all the outcomes possible with gaining success, as well as failing to succeed. I call it "Anti-Societal", and I hope you all like it.
"Anti-Societal"
If you prefer to be, a tool,
building expectations
already set in stone,
well, good for you.
But I'd rather invent
and not remain, the same.
It's nothing personal.
I just feel like it would be far more
satisfying...,
than blending in with the generalized crowd.
(Chorus):
With vast ideas,
and the right resources,
I'll create.
The outcome could give way
to a new high.
I will prepare,
and anticipate the future.
No matter what ensues,
I'll try to build beyond the usual.
If you prefer to be in, the same
still-frame photograph,
kept in the vault of time,
that's what you'll choose.
But I wasn't meant to hang on a wall,
left to hate, the frame.
It's nothing personal.
I just need to be part of something more
gratifying...,
than a, "9-5", "just doing this to live", kind of crowd. So,-
(Chorus)
(Short Interlude)
(Bridge):
The route that's almost always taken, bores me.
The scenery alongside doesn't hold my interest.
It's like choosing a field, over a meadow.
Fields can yield growth,
but we all know
that any bird would prefer to fly to a meadow.
I would too.
(Chorus)
(period of arranged music plays to the end)
EnD
Alrighty... I know some parts of this look out of place, in the sense that it seems doubtful they could be sung to fit a correct musical pattern. The line just before the second Chorus seems to look the most out of place, to me, but somehow when I sing this out loud, that line is sung in a way that matches the vocal pattern of the first of those two matching lines. Also, I'm wondering if the bridge is good enough. It seems good to me, but I'd like to hear other's thoughts about it. I think I might go sleep now, cause' last night I slept for once. I'll likely be back tomorrow night. Later! |
