I gave a listen to 'stand up'..
The mix sounds really 'bassy' to me. The guitarwork is well done, but not my favorite style. The vocals are also well done, especially the chorus.

Sounds like 80's rock or early 90's....kinda like ugly kid joe or faith no more. Stand up is a good song but the sound of the song has been done and redone.
This is just an honest opinion from another music listener. |

Soulfish reviews Tracy Star
Stand Up - First up - well recorded - production values are tight and clean. Good seperation on the tracks. Vocals are tight, in tune and delivered with emotion.
This song screams 90's rock - There are hints of everything from Guns and Roses (Mr Brownstone guitar riff) to Ugly Kid Joe and Sebastian Bach (What was his band called?Bon Jovi made em and f****ed em!) in the vocals. It lacks the edge of Motley Crue for me but then doesn't everything! I like the fact that the song is staying true to your intent in the bio. It may not be to everyone's taste but for anyone who wishes the return of pre-grunge 90's rock - You'll love this
Step Right Up - Again - slick recording, tight and you've abviously spent some time on getting the sounds you want. This song starts with a nice dirty wah wah effected guitar that rips into a fat groove which rolls along through to the chorus (nice fat bass drum sound by the way). The chorus is no less anthemic. Got some real energy to it. Again I hear more than a hint of Guns and Roses in the vocal delivery in the chorus. Overall another rock track which fans of this particular vibe will really rock out to - And we all know that middle America is the place for this - You guys will I'm sure enjoy real success amongst the prairies and potato fields!
Both songs are well written and recorded. The lyrics are a bit cliche for my personal taste (but then I do listen to radio head alot!) but having said that - they'd sound odd against this soundscape! The rise of Velvet Revolver bodes well for you guys! |

Just listen to your tunes. Sounds good. Excellent job on the recording of both. Like the wah in Step right up. Definitely vintage hair band rock. keep up the good work
