Hello!

I was looking around at the charts for different genres here on the site, in the electronica genre there was one artist in the house genre taking 8 of 10 places in the top 10, the same artist had 3 top places in the electronica charts, I think thats all about active promotion for the music, cause it was far from the most interesting music i listened to on this site. Hh by the way, he same artist had like 9000 palys in total and the second best had like 4500. What is this!?!?

peace.

First off, you're right to your own opinion, as harsh as it may be...

Of course, the more you promote yourselves the better off you'll be.

As for taking several positions in the charts, it isn't impossible to do so. Even I did it at one point, and then there are those who can never be removed from top spots. It's all basically down to taste. We have a heck of a lot of Electronica artists, who work together, or advise each other by listening to each other's tunes.

But there's active, then there's blatant promotion. We don't allow, at UBW, spamming the boards with one promotion, this is to keep everything fairly balanced. The best way to get plays is to promote a new song, promote yourself in entirity once a month and offer the occasional track up for review.

PLAYS

If you look at the other genres, you will find some artists way outnumber others plays by hundreds, and yes, thousands.
Many have a huge fan base which helps this along, many promote themselves wisely.

It's not there to say who better, because I don't agree sometimes, and the ones I think deserve recognition are way down at the bottom.

It basically boils down to taste and, like the INDUSTRY, who you're a fan of, and who you're not.

Hi guest

Everyone's entitled to their view, but if I had a quarter of this artists talent and knowledge, I'd be very grateful indeed.

Promotion definitely helps get the message out there, but surely one also has to deliver, which explains the high plays.

Hello again!

I am only looking for some thoughts on this matter, the internet is full of great artists and i guess every Mp3 hosting site got to have stars, In this case it might be the right artist, after looking around on the forums some more I realised that you, Alec Acero is very active here and have inspired many other musicians here, a positive attitude and big interest for music, I now realise that unsignedbandweb.com needs people like you.

Ps!I am only visiting the site, so i am a guest right=)

Peace!

Guest, I think hanging out in the forums is going to generate plays as much as anything. you get into discussions with folks about music and it's natural they get curious about your music.
