I've finally uploaded another song. I had to remove Wishing Wells to do it, but that song wasn't getting so much attention anyway.
The new song is called "Beyond Words." I plan on doing a lot more with this one, but this is about as far as I'll on taking it acoustically.
This isn't a final recording, though. I need to raise the volume of the voice during the first (and maybe the second) verse and re-record the solo and backing rhythm progression in the middle of the song.
The track is my longest so far at just over seven minutes. There's not really a story behind it; the song is more like a dream sequence. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but somehow everything flows together.
Give it a listen and let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Jack |

Hey Maisie. Cool to see ya again.
Listenin' now. That's some real emotional guitar you got going there. Vocals seem a little low.
The lyrics are good and strong as usual and the recording's a lot better too.
Great track. |

Its a very honest sounding song. i like it. The fact that its long isnt a problem really because there should be more songs that are longer than 3 mins. The guitar recording really good. But id agree the vocal levels could be worked on. You should look at a Rode NTK mic. They are relatively cheap very clear sound that cuts through the mix really well. You can listen to my "keep me" track to get an idea what it sounds like. And then a decent compressor to keep you levels in check and then you would have a really good balanced mix. As far as the songwriting tho. It sounds good. |

I appreciate the responses; thanks, guys! I'd like to get a new microphone... For "Beyond Words," I used one that I hadn't used before (hence the new sound, Brooksy), but it still isn't the greatest. Once I've got a mixer, I'll be able to do some great stuff with my instruments.
I'd like more reviews. If anyone gets a chance, please listen to "Beyond Words" for me and let me know what you think. I'm churning out songs much less frequently than before and I don't want to be forgotten.
Soon to come: "Why?" "Feels Like Winter," "Bee" (yes, that one's finally finished), "Charlie Needs a New Disease" (a hot bluesy track I'm working on), and "Anywhere but Right Here"
Thanks,
Jack |

Listening..... sound like you put a lot of emotion into this song. The vocals could be brought up some, as you said, but all in all its a cool song. I really like that chord progression. Also listened to a couple of earlier tracks of yours. I like the political theme of the early work. It shows your able to incorperate the REAL real world into music.(Which isnt always easy...lol) Anyways cool trax, and keep on rockin, and if ya get the time....give us a listen and some feedback!!!
