I’m putting up some favorite “Lighter Side” listens. Lots of acoustic tunes in here. The theme for these should be easy and relaxing listening. I’m going to start including more song in each weekly favorite post and leave them up for longer than a week. These will be added to the Weekly Favorites “This Week” radio station and the Weekly Favorites “Lighter Side” archives. (see link in sig file below)
Artist: Isaac Simons “740 Windsor Blvd” very nice melodic acoustic storytelling – vocal remind me of Edwin McCain. Nice song. I’m a fan – he’s one of the better storytellers I’ve encountered on the site. “Leave Somehow” was mentioned in a previous “weekly favorites” post also, but if you haven’t heard it listen to it there.

Artist: Steffanie Christi’an “There You Go”. Stephanie can sing. Great song and the song and performance have a smooth lasting groove. Great ambience and great classic organ sound. High quality production. Can folks familiar with organ sounds tell me what type of organ this is (Is this a B3?)

Artist: Ben Medlock “Run” “So Show Me” and “the Wall in my Garden”. In all of these songs Ben shows a talent for writing easily listenable songs with catchy hooks. “Run” , Lighter side - mellow with a modern sound. Well constructed. I really like this one. “So show me” Nice range on the vocals in the chorus. Good pop song. “the Wall in my Garden” - very mellow

Artist: theonewhoflew “Summer Stole the Girl” - acoustic guitar and melodic vocal. http://www.unsignedbandweb.com/music/bands/2242/
Artist: Ron Dillehay “Feeling Down” this is an acoustic tune by the site’s creator. And no, I’m not kissing up to the “Lord of UBW” -you all know I only put stuff on here that I find a really good listen. This one has grown on me and is certainly worth a listen. Lofi only (no hifi Ron?).

Artist: the Foreboding “ You should know” is a nice tune with a string arrangement accompanying. The artist has another tune “Counting the beats” which is one of the front page moderator’s picks for December.

That's all for now. Is anybody watching the Titans and Colts? What a strange, unexpected game. |
