Hi all, I often play the Rock Archives station on Sunday while watching football, and with the Steelers and the Eagles playing today I gotta go with some rock tunes for this week’s favorite listens. I’m likely to be out of town quite a bit for the next couple of weeks so I’m putting quite a few bands in this list.

As always, you can access the Weekly Favorites “This Week” radio stations as well as the Rock and Lighter Side archives here

Artist: cage9 “Planet Me” - very cool heavy rock tune. Reminds me of Stone Temple Pilots (one of my favorite bands) in parts.

Artist: JustTestingNow (maybe Cauterize?) “Something Beautiful” reminds me of the pop rock of the 1980s. When I first heard the tune I immediately thought “Loverboy” but with more of a rock edge.

Artist: Area 51 “Separate” thick rock tune with a few non-conventional changes along the way. Good vocal and melodic hook. A little Pearl Jam in there. If you like this listen to the other tune “tomorrow” also.

Artist: The Showguns. “I wait for love” Straight ahead old-fashioned hard rock.

Artist: Full Moon Blanket “Matter of Time” is good. reminds me of Blue Oyster Cult a bit. “Dig” is a good melodic rock tune also

Artist: Tripstick “Regs”. Catchy rock/funk. The change at the end of the end of thes song is interesting also. The resolution on this is only 80kbps, I found it plays back a lot better and keeps a more detail through headphones than through my PC speakers.

Artist: Jezebel “the killing kind” - alt rock. Has an 80s pop-rockish-semipunk feel to it. Unique voice.

Artist: Guy Michetti “Coming Home”. Rock-n-Roll in the style of John Mellencamp / Springsteen. The last half of the song has some interesting vocal elements. Hifi stream only.

Artist: Five Star Iris “Day in the Sun” - good mainstream rock.

Artist: secondnotice “Picking Up”. Straight ahead pop rock tune. Hifi stream only.
