Hiya!

Don't know what's got in to me today but I decided to unleash my latest version of "Chase Away the Blues" to the web. Being one of the cnet bbs bunch I've noticed your invitation a couple of times and thought "oh, what the heck"

I've got it up on SongPlanet but they don't allow deep-linking so best I can do is send you to my artists page at

Brian Dondo's Artist Page

The song I'd like reviewed is called "Chase Away the Blues". I've got others there but they are either incomplete bed-tracks or work-in-progress demos. "Chase Away the Blues" kind of represents how far I can take an arrangement in my present circumstances.

Thanks for the offer. I hope you enjoy the tune.

Regards,
Brian Dondo

Brian (bitwhys)....

Arrow ......Chase Away the blues

Let me say for starters that I'm a fan of 50's-60's style music. I think your chord progressions are very similar to songs from that era. Your vocals reminded me a little of Van Morrison (whom I also like). This was a very enjoyable song to listen to and review.

Arrow Vocals: Your vocals are wonderful... You have a unique voice, and its VERY appealing to me. Your singing style is also pretty unique and engaging. Vocals like these tend to draw me into the story. I like the fact that you used very little reverb on your voice. It sounds like you're right inside my speaker. Very intimate... Perfect for this song.

Arrow Lyrics: These are great lyrics. This lyrics stand out as good as any from this genre that I've heard. The lyrics really inspire to understand the story. Really neat love song. (could just as easily be a poem)

Arrow Music: Excellent guitar work that provided a nice basis for the story. I loved the guitar riff that ran through the verse (finger sliding). The entire song really has a nice flow. The lyrics and music really compliment each other in carrying the overall melody of the song.

Exclamation Rating 8 of 10

Arrow Thanks so much for brining your song to the UBW, I really enjoyed listening to it! I've already bookmarked it for future listening. Really a good song to get you out of a bad mood! Thanks Brian!!!

Highly Recommended Listen!!!!
