updates to band profile back-end

first off, to minus me and the rest of the folks at UBW, nice work on the back-end layout. it's a very subtle change, but it looks nice. i'm not sure if i like the tool bar being attached to the rest of the page (just something to get used to), but it's no biggie.

everything else appears to be pretty much the same except for the stats page. first, the stats page uses to show the songs in the same order as they are on the profile itself. i liked that a lot. i put our songs in a certain order based on how they perform in the charts so when people navigate to our page from the charts page, they see songs they are familiar with first. i then put a song that i think is very good in the 2nd slot with the hope that more attention will be drawn to it. sounds kind of crazy, but sometimes it works. in fact, i know it works...just sometimes a lot better than others. Laughing

anyhow, the stats page is missing some info. i like being able to just look at the top and know how many total plays an downloads we have. i'm lazy when it comes to math.

all in all, i like the changes, though. thanks! Cool

also, since the updates you've made, i've tried to make one of my songs available for download, but when i tested to make sure it worked properly, i got an error message saying that the media file was not available for download.

in fact, it i get that for several artists who have their tracks available.

Thanks much!! Once I finish with our server changes I'll try to get these changes in. I'll check on the download bug as I haven't seen that yet.

was just checking out the profile editor and looking at the stats page again. two things:

1) i'm not sure i did a good job initially of describing what i meant with tallies. before the updates, under Statistics -> Song stats, towards the top of the window, in the upper left of the frame about the list of songs where individual songs are broken down, the same tally of plays AND downloads was displayed. it was the sum of the plays and downloads on the profiles. that's what's missing now, and i kind of liked it. i don't like doing math and i think it's nice to be able to see the totals when i'm logged into the editor w/o having to display my profile and tally myself. that said, it's a very small thing that's probably not a bug, but in the design. but hey, what do i know?!?! Laughing

2) again, under Statistics -> Song stats, the songs are now listed in alphabetical order instead of being in the same order as they are on the profile. i may be the odd one on this, as i rearrange songs on my profile frequently. it helps draw attention to different songs on the profile as i think i am starting to develop an understanding as to how people scan our profiles by looking at the referrer log (i love that thing), charts, and individual song stats based on where the songs are positioned in the lineup on our profile. people go to the charts, then link to your profile, then listen to the first couple tracks. so, i liked it better when the song orders were the same on the profile and everywhere on the editor. this is just a personal preference, obviously. i respect the fact there me some other rationale behind it or others had requested a preference in conflict with mine.

oh, what's up with the 'x' with the 3 blinking dots below it right above the song photo on the song stats page? sorry of the 10,000 essay. glad you don't enforce any sort of word-limit even though some of our fellows here in the forum would be grateful if such a measure was imposed upon me. Laughing

Thanks!!! I have more 'clean-up' to do of the new design, and these comments are very helpful.... I'll see if I can get these tweaks back into the back-end.

hey ron my stat on "ppb" are affected since a month , is the globat stat counter ok now ?
is is underated ?
was it overated before the updates ?
my stats for xochipilla and samana bands just seem to show my global counter could miss some plays and download counted because of ratio between stats and time blablalbal
what could have happened with that i know beeing talking with all of you is more important for me to have a big number on my global stats in the front of my page because only peoples that invested into this community have gived me feedback, i'm glad some peoples download my stuff but a bit of words sometimes about it are really nice to us, isn't it ?
