sorry it has taken me so long to get a review to you. been MIA for a bit.
i'm listening to Capri MK 3. it's a little poppy for my personal taste, but it is very well put together for sure. i'm not a fan of the particular structure, but taking it apart, each part is very well executed and there as oodles of tweaks that take what could be a monotonous tune and make it a pleasure to listen to. it reminds me of several bands, all depending on the part or riff, yet i can't say: 'this song sounds like band X wrote it.' i really like the mix as well. sure, it needs some work done, some polishing, but everything seems to be sitting where it needs to be, and i have pretty good reference speakers. you can tell you guys put a lot into recording this and it has paid off in my view. gonna listen to 10bar- now...
i like how it starts out. it could have easily developed into an instrumental. it's one of those riffs i can listen to a lot before getting bored. it cuts out suddenly . is that supposed to happen? it's mostly instrumental, as it turns out. the only thing with this one is that i think the vocals are a bit too loud and sit too much over the top of everything else. at that volume, i'm drawn away from the whole, as the vocals partially eclipse everything else. that's just my take on it, though.
i think both tracks are really well done on the whole and think you guys to a bang-up job of capturing a song. again, sorry it took me so long. give us the word when these are complete and best of luck to the lot of you! |
