How did you choose you band`s name

Im sure there must be some nice stories out there.
To kick it off, we named out band gigDoggy cause we wanna book gigs and were crazy about dogs. So not much of a story there. Bet yours is better...

Oh and we got this blog out. It's based on band quotes and unsigned band related articles.

not really a nice story this end either, it took us ages to agree on the name... in the end we simply had to agree on one because of a gig and me uploading stuff onto the net etc... i think we all had a different name in mind at first... most of them were usable, i wanted a really long one aka 'silver mount zion's full title, the drummer was into a 'gamma ray' type theme the bassist was going with the daffodil sword theme we eventually ended up with...lol... all good fun!!!! Laughing

no fights or anything. lol i took us over a year to think of a name. we've gone by a couple of others, but they usually didn't sound right after a few months. in the end, we both decided we liked the name of the street the other guy was living on and went with it. we think it sounds all right.

Well, I decided my rapper name should be "Tubba" cause I'm fat. Very Happy

I'm not in a band now, but in my younger days we had all sorts of unofficial names, but remember one in particular because the bassist drew up a cool picture with cool heavily angled 80s rock lettering for "Mystic" - and we called ourselves that for a while. We played rock so the name didn't really fit our sound, but his drawing really was cool. When you're about 16 the visual of an album cover (there were still alot of LPs then) was part of the fun.

I also remember going through dictionaries at times, but I don't think anything interesting came of that.

Band name? we don't need no stinkin' band name. We let our music speak for itself.

When we're playing shows we just tell'em to make the billboard out front blank because we don't want a name to pollute the purity of our sounds.

At our shows we sell plain white T-shirts. We have millions of fans. You probably see them wearing our gear out and about every day.

Comon guys, im sure some of you got in fight over a band name.
I even encountered google ads for applications that generate band names automatically. Talk about being lazy....

that's funny and sad. it's bad when a group of people, who are supposed to be creative, turn to name generators to find one. but no fights here...at least not over a name. i'm telling you, a duo is about the next best thing to going solo. only one other ego in the group to deal with. Laughing

I mean, the most flexible line up is a trio. Took time for rockers to understand that.
Loves trios, sound so tight, and your usually dealing with 2 very tight friends.
Often works out and the mix is clean, everyone has got his place in the band. No uselessness going on Smile
