Averi
Averi Bio:

Averi will steal your girlfriend, according to the Boston Phoenix. What they mean is that girls seem to have a tough time pulling themselves away from listening to and seeing the Boston five-some and make up the bulk of their passionate, loyal supporters. Winners of the 2005 Boston Music Award for Best Local Rock Band, Averi has been packing Boston and Northeast clubs and colleges since 2001, done damage down the East Coast and into the mid-West and been featured alongside such artists as Gavin DeGraw, Guster, Barenaked Ladies, Goo Goo Dolls, Hanson, Backstreet Boys, Matchbox 20 and many more. "The bands irresistible hooks, irrepressible energy, and sheer love of the stage have turned them into one of [Boston's] top draws," says the Boston Globe's Joan Anderman.

The Boston Globe was also right with their prediction, Averi was THE act to watch in 2005, having finished up the year headlining the Avalon Ballroom (2000-person capacity) and totaling more than 20,000 copies of their sophomore disc Drawn to Revolving Doors, produced by Scott Riebling (Letters to Cleo, American Hi-Fi), sold independently to nearly every state in the U.S. as well as 22 countries around the world.

Averis hook-filled rock anthems, introspective ballads and sax-tinged pop-soul gems left a serious impression in 2005, with the groups latest record debuting at ..9 on Billboards Hitseekers Chart, four Boston Music Award nominations, being named Newbury Comics/Boston Phoenixs Best Wicked Good Band and undoubtedly is one of the countrys top unsigned acts and independent music juggernauts.

But Averi is just warming up and is ready to be a part of even more madness in 2006. The band has a new record in the works and plans to be attacking even more colleges and clubs across the nation with the incendiary duo of singer/guitarist Mike Golarz and saxophonist/everything-but-the-kitchen-sink provider Michael Currier, supported by the strong-armed guitar playing of Stu Berk and the titanium rhythm section of Chris Tilden (bass) and Matt Lydon (drums).

Making the Move!! posted: 11 May 2006 06:27 PM
It feels so good to be on the road. There is always a wonderful sense of security in what you are familiar with but the uncertainty of the unknown is refreshing and exciting and we are eating it up right now! We had a great time on the road in Pennsylvania and NY this week and everyone was amazing. There were Averi supporters showing up from all over with Averi shirts and tons of love. So thank you to all who came out to visit us, support us and make us feel right at home. We will do it again real soon. Promise. We also got a good chance to get out and see some vast landscapes. I am not sure how many of you are into wine but there is a stretch of road from NY to Pennsylvania that is lined for hundreds of miles with vineyards. It is really impressive. I took this picture of some of the vines just starting to bloom for the season. Being that in touch with nature can really put you in touch with yourself or in our case... just relax you so much that you feel like you have to CRAP!! So the vine watching experience was short lived before it was on to the next rest station. And speaking of which, rest stations actually start to become exciting on the road. After being in a vehicle for hours you actually start to look forward to stretching out and grabbing a Cinibon or burrito or something else that is going to make you inevitably have to stop again in like 20 mins. Plus the place is crawling with weirdoes. It always looks like the Creature Cantina from Star Wars. There is everyone gathering in these places from every walk of life. I really think someone could sit at a rest area and talk to people coming through about their travels and their life stories and have a pretty interesting book on their hands...or at least a book that helps you CRAP!!I dont know. More from the road soon but for the next few weeks we are LOCAL!!! or LOCOwhich is it?both I guess, but very LOCAL so check the shows section and come on out to see us. We cant wait to see everyone and be playing back around home with some new tunes to boot! In a bit. -Averi
