Str8jacket existed without a name in mainstream Metal for many years, being influenced by both the extremes of speed metal (Destruction) and Thrash (Str8jacket), as well as carrying forward influences from hardcore and Gothic influences to original heavy metal and industrial. Str8jacket growing fan's , Speed metal took the classically-influenced structures of neoclassical progressive in Str8jacket with a raw garage sound which is refreshing to the upstate NY Metal scene ,Str8jacket has a feel to them like the "underground" did in the 80's . For these and many other reasons beyond the scope of this document,Metal music is currently nearing forty years of age, and has gone through a number of generations, and with the culmination of death and black metal, has reached a musical maturity of being distinct from rock music, hardcore punk, and the other genres surrounding it. One might think, if one believes in linear history, that this is the end of its growth , Str8jacket sound bring back a new life to Metal
