The Illusion Bio:
When asked how Corpus Christi, Texas upcoming Rock band, The Illusion, got its name, singer Justin Smith replied that it was part of being spontaneous. Although spontaneity has given this 3-piece band an edgy title, the music itself is far from impulsive. The Illusion has been in its creative stages for 5 years, when guitarist/bass player Michael Villanueva began using his personal computer to record a few of his many groundbreaking musical ideas. One year ago, his personal creativity led to the recruitment of Smith and guitarist Julian Mendez to begin what has become an extremely dedicated and disciplined band. The alliance of these three musicians has led them to a unique, ranging style that is sure to take the music industry by storm. With influences as widespread as Nirvana, Metallica, Pantera, Gin Blossoms, A Perfect Circle, Oasis, and The Cure--the chaotic, yet amazingly balanced rhythm of The Illusions music is sure to capture a widespread audience and satisfy the radio airwaves. The Illusion is currently in the process of mixing, mastering, and recording many of their musical compositions so that they will be ready for future live shows. Once you have experienced the musical variety of The Illusion, you are sure to be left with a first impression that is, as one fan quotes, astonishing."
