So you started a band!...No let me start over. So you already have a band, you ARE and artists/musician etc. etc., and now its time to get out there ad build a following. The task is simple, tell everyone you know that you've got great music, tell them to tell everyone they know, and so on until next thing you know you're winning Grammy awards. It's no secret that that is exactly how it's done and that the formula works. However this isn't easily said or done. Step 1: Plan. Who does your music appeal to within your own groups and circles and everyone else. Next, what do you want to say and how do you want to say it? (scream across a room, or hand out a sample or your work) Lastly, identify how many listeners you wish to capture. If your fan base is 1000 your goal should be to reach 5000 then 10,000 etc. This will help you understand what level of advertising you need to take, whether you can operate word-of-mouth or if your going to need to spend some money. If your trying to go from a no name band to 30,000 fans right away it's not going to happen. Music corporations like Warner can do this because they have millions of dollars to broadcast to everyone, not to mention most of their efforts are a waste when albums are sold. By working incrementally in small amounts an artist can give attention to his/her/their followers and build a relationship which is far more rewarding in the business world than searching for new and more listeners all of the time. more to come.... visit my "band" http://audioupmusic.com
