The Roger Lee bad Bio:Who Are We? We are an original four piece rock band from Birmingham and the Midlands, our musical influences are mixed and varied but the mainstream of what we write and perform is centred around 70's & 80's style AOR rock. We hope you like our music as much as we do... The Story So Far... On Saturday 29th January 2011 we all got together for the very first time in a very small practice room somewhere in Birmingham. Roger Lee on guitar & vocals, Sean Page on guitar, Kevin Turner on Bass with Rob Muddyman on drums. The next practice saw the arrival of our second guitarist Paul Miller and the departing of our drummer who just failed to turn up for practise sessions. The following week we were joined by our stand-in drummer Ryan Cody. Ryan told us mid-way through our tea and coffee break that he'd love to join up with us full time, well it was a tough choice between taking on Ryan or keeping the drum machine, Ryan got the job. On March 16th after a brief chat with our guitarist Sean Page, he has now decided that due to other commitments it's time to leave the band. We had some good times in our practise sessions but I guess there are times when we just have to move on... 18th March 2011 well, so early on in the game and we've already had radio airplay. Thursday 3rd March we were on Radio WM Introducing, and on Tuesday 15th March we were on WCR FM Radio with Don't Tell Me (World without You). Let's hope this continues... 12th March 2011 Today we completed our second recording session of the week and had a productive 4 hours in the studio. Not only did we lay down some tracks to existing songs but also went over some new material. There's lots more work to do in the coming weeks ahead but I'm sure we'll come out of it smiling. 5th March 2011 On Thursday 3rd March we had our very first airplay on the BBC Radio WM show Introducing. CLICK HERE for a sample of that show in which we were featured. We got our airplay thanks to the hard work of our bass player Kevin Turner who did what was needed to get us on there. I guess it's because of this that we are now to be known as The Roger Lee Band We understand that there is lots of work for us to be getting on with. Rehearsals take place once a week and Roger & Kevin are writing new material all the time, although we are actually at the point where we already have enough material for the first album, but we want more... The general idea is that we shall start gigging around Birmingham by the summer of 2011 with the new album already written and recorded. If we can get out there sooner then we will.
