FORGOTTEN YOUTH
FORGOTTEN YOUTH Bio:

Some bands chose names as a result of some in joke, some pluck at random, some to be obtuse and some for a reason. Forgotten Youth are very much in the latter camp, picking a name that resonates to the very heart of their existence.

At just 20 years Peter Seidel is still young, but old enough to know the pressures of growing up fast and finding your own way in his turbulent native South Africa. Besides having a growing infatuation with pyromania, he has already been a mostly unwitting part in a cultural and political revolution that has changed lives on a scale that it is hard to really understand, whatever encouragement the world has offered from the sidelines. Peter (pyro kid) also knows the simple truth, that some things never change and as youth around the world will testify, if anyone ever listens, "i have something to say, i have ideas, i have opinions...But you might not like them!"

And so to london 2004 and after the success of the first 6-track EP/Demo, have now released another 4-track EP/Demo that says much about maturity and willingness to push the writing envelope beyond the expected three minute thrash. Yes they can do that too, but have chosen to experiment in finding a unique sound, but not at the cost of a damn good tune and a killer riff.

Peter's songs explore big themes of love, loss, life and death, sex and the quest through uncertainty for a definite, a solidity, and other interesting themes of extra terrestrials, pyromania, and the fight to make something right, while still having the balls to "stick it to the man" they can at the same time pull off a rocking party to the very end... - rock that you can plant a flag on.

None of this would be possible without Frost, lifelong friend and bass and vocal foil to Peter's urgent guitar. Frost is the iceman cool headed beyond measure on account of the extra height, but like a snow capped valcano there is a fire in the heart. Then there's Vee, representing the fifth element and the bits in between time and space, where the songs take routes and the rythms cascade, swelling and breaking in waves.

It should be no surprise that back home our boys have played to thousands at a time, 4000, 5000, 8000, 35000. But this is a country that's only on the map and hence the move to the UK, with one desire, one passion, one calling... To make music.

Listen up and listen good!! It seems the Forgotten youth have got something to say.
