If you like in-your-face heavy melodicism music on the alternative side with a touch of intense high energy, you’ve come to the right place. Fueled by the injection of raw energy and amazing vocals, Rake’s new front man, Maz, definitely put the finishing touch to the band. Being dubbed “Alberta’s Rock Heros”, Rake is no stranger to success. Over the years, Rake has stretched their limits to performing as the opening act for Nickelback, Theory Of A Deadman, and Big Sugar (to name a few) at such venues as Rexall Place (formally knows as the Skyreach Centre), Shaw Conference Centre, and Canada’s largest, longest outdoor festival known as Stage 13. These guys definitely have the ability to constantly develop and evolve. With their first two independent releases (RAKE - 1997/Ritual Human - 2000) produced by none other than Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, with the help of Joel Van Dyke (the Odds, Wide Mouth Mason) to mix it all up and Nick Blagona (Police, Tea Party, Deep Purple and Queen) to master it at Metalworks in Toronto, and their latest works being produced by Matt Martone (Three Doors Down) plus the new album in the works being produced by their good and long time friend Danny Craig of Default!....so there is no doubt they have established themselves as a solid, hard working band. Rake has been steadily increasing their fan-base to the point that the next step is inevitable. Since then they have been busy booking shows to reassert themselves as one of Canada's premiere live acts. cheers!
