Reverend John and the Backsliders Bio:
A funky little “blues band”, bred out of an odd series of coincidences, Reverend John & the Backsliders was initially nothing more than a catchy name. Formed by the members of three well-known South Central Kentucky area bands, Rev. John is quickly gaining local notoriety with their unique combination of blues, rock, funk, and traditional American folk music. Comprised of Corey White on vocals, guitar, and keys, Jonathan New on bass, Jason Foster on percussion, and Jordan Shokooh on guitar, the band is dedicated to creating sounds that not only pay homage to their musical predecessors and influences, but that also will forge a path into uncharted musical territory. From Son House to Kurt Cobain, Robert Johnson to Daniel Johnston, these guys deliver a sound that is just familiar enough to catch your ear, and inventive enough to keep you listening.
