Destination West Bio:
The group was started a little over five years ago by Mike Baresse and Mick Barrett, and was originally a ska outfit, but the positions of lead guitar player and bass player changed a few times, thus changing the direction of our music as we are now a hard rock group, with Dom joining the band three years ago and Steve joining about four months ago. Our first EP "In the Name of Chaos" was recorded bewtween 2007/2008 and received many positive reviews and sold well, though we have yet to break out of our northeastern PA territory. We are currently working on an as yet untitled follow-up, most likely a full-length LP. Each band member has an eclectic taste in music, and each one of us utilizes all of our influences when we write our originals: whether it's Mike eerily channeling Layne Staley while Mickey mixes metal-style double kick and Danny Carey's tendency towards polyrhythms, or Dom and Steve playing more like two guitar players instead of a guitar player and a bass player, anything and everything is fair game.
