Renee Asteria Bio:
Renée Asteria's music unites hard-hitting Roots Reggae, passionate Latin grooves and profound Alternative Rock. Described as “musically adventurous” and “a one of a kind breaking of all rules” (C. Foster, Reggae Update, getthebeat.com), Renée Asteria’s songwriting reflects her life experience, multicultural background (US-born, Bolivian-Dutch heritage) and strong commitment to justice. In her junior album “Faces of Agent Double E” Renée marked a stylistic transition by taking her Latin-folk style and weaving it into Reggae. After a history of musical projects in the Americas (Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, USA) and Europe (France, Switzerland) which culminated in a summer debut at the Montreal Jazz Festival in July 2008, Renée Asteria has planted roots in the SF Bay area and is developing a new genre “Female Fronted Latin Roots Reggae”. Renee Asteria is current working on her next release. |
