Yes the 80's were guitar driven straight in your face rock and roll!!!!
and I think if it were not for bands that you guys mentioned i may have taken up another hobby besides guitar...i started playing in 1976, my very first song i learned was "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith...lol from the "Toys In The Attic" album.....which i still own that album to this day....then it was to Jimi Hendrix songs...then i discovered RUSH......and haven't looked back,
for all you kiddies out there, RUSH, the band...not the crap you sniff..lmaooo |

HaHaHa.....aint no Grandpa yet sonny...lol
but i can only imagine in about 30 years when I am really, really old....out in my garage playing as loud as I can, but, will more than likely have hearing problems, so it will be loud because of that....then the little kiddies come by and say "Damn, look at that old guy rockin, is that a real guitar?? because im sure by then as we are getting lazier and lazier they may have a way of playing without actually touching one...lol |

you mean guitars will come with buttons and look more like a game controller? loli've had several people ask me before if i thought that by getting good at guitar hero they'd have an easier time learning the real guitar. lol |

This is right up my street Gunner. Love it to bits.
If I find some time this weekend, I'll send you a bass track for it. If you like it it's yours, if it sucks, just file it under B. |

I'm a little more on the pop rock side of things though:
Van Halen, Satriani, Bon Jovi, Steve Morse, and even Warrant - I loved the Cherry Pie album, esp: Uncle Tom's Cabin, Mr. Rainmaker, Train Train (remake), and several others. |
yea, thats nothing but truth.... "went out after that".... but was so good before that..... Jan akkerman, John Mcloughlin, Robert Fripp, Frank Zappa,Andy Powell and Ted Turner, Michael Karoli, Ritchie Blackmore, Andrew Latimer and dare i say it jimi 'himself' hendrix.... plus many more i know ive missed ...
the long and short... the 80s is nothing but a tar stain on society, pretty much like the way the beatles were when that one was alive... though i must say, theres nothing better than growing up on the cure and the the.... and the smiths... theres still not an ounce of talent compared to a 69-75 guitarist (in general)
also i wouldnt be me if i didnt ask.... 'does anyone wanna have sex???'

Man, hands of a god.
Very good guitar work.
Enjoyed it. Should be longer of course! lol, not enough time to get into it, but certainly a very good feel to it, and definatly a lot of potencial.

Thanks RTD,
i know about the length...but with time being so short to get everything done in life it takes a while to get even a 2:00 minute song done...but i am working on it......"Hands Of A God"...that is the first time anyone has ever said anything like that in all my 30 years of banging on the geetar...I appreciate it...don't worry it won't go to my head..lmaooo
I have another one I am putting the finishing touches on it is 2:38 long...so it looks like I am going in the right direction...by the way...Welcome to UBW!!! |
