cool vibrato/whammy just prior to the solo. like the clean tone you're able to get in the solo too.

nice 'Classic rock' sounding tune mate... excellent guitar work once again!!! not sure if i like the amount of reverb thats on the track, sounds a little too much in places, but, then again it kinda works with the tune too!! guess its just a matter of opinion / taste really.... cool tune anyway mate |

Nice track. Solid rock, with a good lead guitar tone.
Cool solo too. |

This is very sunset strip isnt it? The 'keep coming' chorus section is an almost carbon copy of the 'so sticky' Motley Crue chorus, from the song Sticky Sweet. Other than that its good, but nothing new, make sure you dont get stuck in a timewarp and end up a blithering idiot, with a thin, balding mullet, traipsing the streets shouting at children who'll never understand the complex musicality of L.A Guns. |

it's not a copy of the 'so sticky' chorus. your memory fails you. this is a straight 4/4 and 'so sticky' has a few very short breaks built into it. i probably haven't heard the track in 15 years, but recall the chorus well. it's so simple, how could one not? if anything, it's kind of similar to the 'breaking the law' chorus by judas priest. it's still a bit of s stretch.
i'm sure the composer will be mindful to avoid the time warp of which you speak. as observed in your other postings, you seem to have a lot of wisdom to spread around. i'm sure it's all in the name of making the music world a better place. keep it coming. we're on the edge of our f**king seats. |

man, i do apologize. the dude who'd written the comment i was going on about had chafed me a bit.
the track is really solid. i agree with a lot of the comments the other regulars made. the guys voice was interesting for sure. and it is a solid rock track. i also dug the solo. as with the other rock tracks you've put up, this one's also quality. i really thought the mix was nice and clean as well.
best of luck to you! |

nothing major I heard. i really enjoy the 80's sound, and I like how it almost has a heavier distortion than general classic rock, just how I play to. good job |

are you all deaf or what? this is mediocre at best, with no originality. I was under the impression that this was a song review site, not a 'lick shit bands arses' site. even if it has more of the judas priest about it, its still a lazy stab at a tired style of tune. i'm not trying to be a obstreperous swine, or to shatter the dreams of budding musicians (which im sure ive failed at anyway), its just the lack of inventiveness and originality in some songs that makes me such an arsehole. |

mate, the whole point is to try and give constructive critism, so as not to cause animosity or rifts between the UBW community or for that matter promote 'revenge' reviews etc etc etc, theres no problem with you not liking a song nor having high standards for the artists to aspire to, the problem lies in the way you are putting yourself across, this certainly isnt a 'lick shit bands arses' site, however usually the people on here (being musicians themselves) can relate to an artist's efforts whatever the style and what ever the production quality of the tune, which makes people focus on the positive things in the song, not just rip into a guy because you don't personally like his music, if you dont have constructive critisism (something that will actually HELP the artist that you think is so dire) then just turn the song off and dont write anything...
hope to hear some 'positively worded' reviews from you in the future, reviews are an integral part of an artsist's improvement and are always welcome if given with respect and most importantly given as advice or suggestion...
catch you later mate... |

i suppose i am being overly gregarious in my manner and its probably due to my personal vendetta against this type of music, but i do think that lack of originality is a perfectly valid point to make. although i was slightly headstrong in my reply, i do think that lack of inventiveness is one of the big factors determining the poor music scene at the moment.
For the record, i made a perfectly positve constructive review of a track by the Toads, which was my first review. Im not trying to be a dickhead, i just enjoy writing and enjoy people reading my writing. And to the author of the track, with reference to The Manifesto of the Futurist Painters, regard all critics as useless and dangerous!! |
