If you like acoustic/indie/rock, check out Missy Higgins (http://www.myspace.com/missyhiggins).
This awesome Aussie is having a show on March 7th at Epic (formerly The Quest) in Minneapolis.
Tickets for this show go on sale tomorrow, 2/2, at 10:00am, so get yours and go see the acoustic cutie in action! |

This should probably be in the OFF-SITE Promotion forum.
Also, I'm not a fan of Missy Higgins, her music irritates me for some reason I've yet to figure out. |

seneki's right about this being in the completely wrong forum...not that you're probably coming back. and her name does sound like someone with a lot of irritating qualities. i'll be sure to listen to something before i complete my passing of judgment. i bet $100 CAD (it's almost worth more than USD, and sometimes it is) that she's cute but sings about really deep, emotional stuff. am i a winner? let me know seneki, if you happen to read this. |

She's mostly listened to by either the 15-25yr old girl bracket, or gay guys.
She's better than the usual pop trash out there, and she can definitely sing, but I'd still put her in the same bucket.
And I wouldn't say that she sings about really deep, emotional stuff. If she does, I've never heard any of that.
Plus... she is most definitely not unsigned. |

it's been about the same on this end. the first of the year is always a pain. busy busy busy. we also had a gig the other night, so have been preparing for that. it went really well, and i should have another live one up on the sylvan lane profile within the next few days. we played the gig on way short notice (we'd been preparing to go another night), and good that we did because it also got us a gig next tuesday in Omaha. it's actually not too far from here, so we'll be able to drive back that night and go to work the next day. we just might be rolling into work a little later than usual. the thing about acoustic shows is that they never really get that out of hand. can you imagine everyone getting crazy wild while listening to our song 'Falling?' it's more like, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. lol we're the band you go see if you want to clal it an early night. it's all good though. i'm really excited about how the recording of that show turned out. if we had preformed a bit better, i would put up the whole thing, but i'm only going to put up one track. i'll notify everyone when it's up. i think you guitar heads will like it. it's our song 'Ficus,' but we've added like an extra 3-4 min on the end of it. it came out sounding really well. take care man and keep an out out for some new Sylvan Lan and Audio Companion tracks very soon!
facefitz: we know all about it, lad. you work all night far from home. sounds like someone is trying to cover things up. can't let mummy and daddy know! |
