Hey...new here. This looks like a great resource for all of us struggling, unsigned bands out there. I look forward to talking, meeting, and hearing your music, and sharing my own.
What are you guys doing to get your music heard? Any tips, suggestions? |

Put it on as many sites as you can find.
Get as many people to download or stream it as possible.
Plug gigs, but don't spam people.
Make sure you get in touch with people and sites in the right genre/style for your music.

yea, thats pretty good advice from Seneki.... id also add stay active in the forums on the sites where your musics up... youll make friends that way, and always ask for peoples opinions on your songs... even if you dont agree people can spot things you may have missed... its always good to get a 'fresh' listen on your tunes...
good luck with it all mate... |

Yeah, like FaceFitz said.
And when getting opinions, never take criticism too hard.
Not everyone is going to like your music, you can't please everyone, and you should only be trying to please yourself anyway. |

that is the truth!!! at the local level you want to make friends with other bands. this can be extremely important when getting gigs. either in getting to play them period, or getting that extra band to fill out the night when your 1 band short. even get to know people in bands that play way different music. depending on the scene in your area, this may work as an unexpected bonus. i live in an area dominated by rock bands...my band doesn't play rock, but we play shows with several of the rock bands in the area because we're friends and they respect what we do. plus, when people in the other bands start telling others about you, they listen. good luck!!! |

And when it comes to reviews it's not like definitives words cause when peoples don't like your stuff or yourself they rate low and say this is not good...
Taking place in the forums will promote you and by feedback you'll gain musicianship.
Now it's up to you to challenge opinions about music, remember skill only isn't enought to be great because you need to promote, review, collaborate, been reviewed...to get high...to get high
cheers |

I think this is the wrong place for posting this, but I checked out some of your stuff anyway.
I really like 'Slue of Imperfact Devotion'. It has a very surreal feel to it.
Reminded me a lot of a British band called 'Cinephile', who I reckon are awesome.
If you are going to post links to songs asking for feedback though, there is the 'Song Reviews' section, or if the file is on a different site, there is the 'Advertisments & OFF-SITE Promotion' section, for promoting songs not on this site.
Keep up the great work though! |
