first off, you're promoting a review that's on a site which is off-site. this post is totally in the wrong place. had you not been promoting the link, you'd be in the right place, but you're not here to discuss, but to promote. please read the rules before posting. we don't drop by sites you like to visit and throw crap at you, do we? now, the cheerier bits...
yeah, i've got some ideas and none of them are sure as hell bleeding radiohead! you've got to be kidding me! sure, it's a good album, but you can't tell me that in all of 2007 you couldn't find an album that was more novel than bloody inrainbows?!?!?!?! incredulity is an understatement man. i'm straight baffled. and top album of the year in which genre even? college radio? if this is the new face of college radio, it's pretty sad. what about the new Battles album, Mirrored? it's perhaps the best new rock album that's come out in the last 5 years. it's innovative, new, a technical wonder to behold! the Radiohead album was just more of the same. it's good, but not album-of-the-year good by any means. if this was like 2000 or 2001 and they had just released Kid A or Amnesiac, i might be far likelier to agree. do college kids even listen to underground music anymore? |

this reflect the opinion of a part of the population, better is to know what u will found in each country that you like and then it's your prefered music, teenagers and young people are those who buy the most music, an interesting question is who are the artist that are making some novative and good on all level music.I'm not a fan of radiohead but as this post don't promote the site elseway that giving a link of a referal link for the subject he choosen i will let the post here.
Maybe u should launch topics a bit gorbatron if you feel most of them are not imaginatives.Let your imagination open and don't be scared about the mass market industry, i noticed that the band who make really interesting music of quality survive in the past even if they don't make a lot of money, lots of very specialised small artist realeased dozen of cd while more than ten years...it's true in each genres of music...finallly i would say that radiohead is well produced but not a band that really will mark the future, i don't think the posterity will really notice band like radioheads only because they selled music, the power of good music make this one asked by other musicians for covers, remix, small samples rip |

oh yeah man, i know. this guy was talking specifically about college critics and that's what got me going. as far as rock goes - and in my opinion, Radiohead peaked with the release of Kid A and Amnesiac. it's not my favorite music, but it was very progressive for the time. it's a sort of blend of pop and IDM. story i've heard is that they had been listening to artists on the Warp label a lot at the time. it would totally make sence.
also college radio in the US has the reputation of being very cutting edge. i would expect the top album of 2007 picked by college radio critics to either be a band that i haven't even heard of yet, or a band i'm into but their material is very difficult to find,
i have a decent sized album collection. and it's not just a collection where i just add everything someone sends me or it falls into my hands somehow. i'm pretty picky about what goes into it. i think the oldest recordings are wax recordings of Aleister Crowley, from around the turn of the last century, and obviously something from a few days or weeks ago is the newest.
that all said, i couldn't believe that college radio critics were getting behind inrainbows by Radiohead for album of the year. they couldn't do that and still be credible by any means. there were so many really good progressive albums out this year that blow that album away. that's why i got all bent outta shape. |

i prefer a free 700 mo cd of selectionned free mp3s instead instead buying a commercial cd of flat music most of the records by 2007 are bad in my opinion...music on tv is total dullness of soul on most of the channel...i have a numeric tv channels box and i don't like this band making only fame and not a music that has a real flavor in it.Radiohead is making music people will buy and i don't discuss on this point but it's far from genius music... |
