I dont know that it really matters, but I have noticed in the charts (rock, Mainly) that a lot of times I am seeing songs holding more than one position, yet NEVER on the SAME PAGE.....Like one song, hypothetically, being at position 25, and then the same song by the same artist again at position 39.... IS this possible, and if so HOW???. Is this just a glitch??I wouldnt normaly notice this, but I am seeing it a LOT here as of late.....The only reason it concerns me is if the same song is in 2 places on the chart at ONE time, isnt that taking spots away from the groups that COULD and SHOULD be in the top 100, if not for all the "double listing".... Isn't this problem just bumping artist out of their RIGHTFULL position, and doesn't this affect the TRUE chart listing? I personally have NO songs on the charts, and Im not THAT worried about weather or not I do, but I would hate to see other groups NOT recieving their DUE CREDIT! CHEERS TO ALL!!! and KEEP THE ROCK ROLLIN!!!

yeah, that's covered in the post "plays not being counted." it's a result of the plays not being counted correctly and fluctuating like mad. refer to that thread if you'd like. evidently it's a major pain in the ass, so it's taking some time. i think i started that thread almost two weeks ago. i'm sure it's being taken care of, though. since it's affecting the whole site, it must be a big problem.

if you check your total plays you'll notice that they are probably higher than the number you'd get if you added the totals from each individual song. those plays are still being counted normally. we have something like 6700 plays total and one day i logged in to see that we had over 10,000 but were no longer anywhere to be found in the charts. we had two or three in the top ten at the time. it's a bit annoying because that's where most of our plays were coming from. they'd see a song in the charts and play it. not any more. Laughing

Thankee Kindly!!
I had scanned over the "plays not being counted" forum briefly, but didnt notice that bit.....We havent noticed any crazy fluctuations in total plays, just odd things going on with our chart listing(when we were in them) and acctually had one song in 3 COUNT "EM THREE places at once.. thought it was just my late night sleepy headedness, till I noticed another few groups in the same predicament.... Any who....... Shocked

it's mentioned briefly, cuz another guy noticed his songs were no longer in the charts and they had been for many, many months. also, i got you mixed up with another user, who had also posted in that thread; otherwise i wouldn't have mentioned it. Laughing but, yeah it sucks. sorry to hear that it's affected you in such a negative way as well. we'll all find our way back at some point i reckon. Smile

Ok, I think I have this problem fixed. The songs weren't actually 'on' the charts multiple times, it's that each page of the results was being cached based on it's last access, so some pages were refreshing ahead of the others, making it look like the song was on the chart at more than one place. I cut the cache down to just over a minute (to help with the speed), but this should greatly reduce the likelyhood that you will see the same song multiple times.

Thanks for the report, and let me know if you continue to see this problem.
