hey, I think ubw should put together a 18-20 track list for a mixtape that could be downloaded off the site or somethin', throw me some opinions and whatever...im just seein what people think im not asking it to be done

I've never done it on a website myself but i seen it on a few sites...generally its in its own section titled "name" Mixtape and then has the track listing where you can click on the tracks to listen and download....its sort of like the top 10 lists when you click the genre only the mixtape tracks are chosen by the admin of the site and not by the plays

sounds like a cool idea!!!! Do they typically run the mix tape in the forums or somewhere on the site itself? The admin just picks the songs or do people vote on it?

just somewhere on the site, maybe when someone clicks on hiphop the mixtape advertisement or link could show up above the top 10 weekly playslist....the admin could either pick the tracks themselves or poll the listeners, polling the listeners would take sigfnicantly longer though, id say just let the admin do it

Sounds cool. I think it's something that we should try!

The thing is, we have LOTS of GREAT hip hop artists here, but they haven't been too active in the forums yet. I'm hoping as we gain additional hip-hop artists, they will start becoming a bigger part of the community. Ultimately, this would help make a mix tape type of promotion much more successful.

So if you know any OTHER hip-hop artists that are looking for a place to promote and be a part of the community, throw them an invite!!!!

With the growth of the site what it is, I think this will happen naturally over the next month or so!

Thanks again for sharing a GREAT idea. This is one we're gonna HAVE to do!!!!!

i want in on this ish.

maybe another cool idea would not only be genre mixtapes, but theme mixtapes. that way it ensures all new material.

the idea is nice....very nice...I have seen on other OMD "mixtapes" and "mixtape showcase" after....it seems to be a good thing!

The "Theme" idea is such a great idea!!!

well i'm not "american" firstly, and i think posting an idea like this on the "world wide web" is a fantastic idea. it ensures participation from all over the world. i love to hear different influences depending on where people live.
