hey acoustic music lovers (and haters)! just wanted to promote my UBW radio station Sounds Acoustic, Mostly. i've got music up from several acoustic music makers here on UBW and many of them you've probably never listened to before. there's a wealth of talent on hear that doesn't get much exposure; not to mention that the acoustic genre doesn't get near the attention as the others, except for maybe country.
there are several instrumentals and quite a selection of material from UBW's best singer/songwrites. and no, this station isn't just a vehicle to promote my band. we've got some songs in the mux, but the overwhelming majority of the songs are from other artists that i've come to really enjoy over the past few years.
if you'd liek to have your acoustic music added to the station, let me know and i'll have a listen. thanks and i hope you enjoy! |

hey guys. i added People say... to the station. you should be able to see it under 'radio stats' when you check your stats on this site. i usually check your myspace or UBW profile every few weeks at least, and since we usually keep in touch, i'll know when you have more material. i'll check it out and decide if there's anything else i'll add. if you hear some good acoustic music on UBW that you think might go well with my station, let me know that as well.
you guys must have more material by now if you're playing 30 min sets. when are you going to record again? i know it's all kind of a pain, but the new takes you did on those songs sounded so much better. i know i've already told you that, though. talk to you soon. |

Thankyou.
Sounds like your sick of the old songs lol
Yes, we have 6 complete songs now and we were talking about recording today....
But we're really not sure, then when the real album comes out everyone will already be board with it because they heard the home recordings a million times lol
We will be recording with James Wisner (Underoath, Dashboard Confessinal etc.) but it will take awhile, it will cost alot and we need to save alot of money.
Thats why we are selling the single People Say.... |

no, man. i'm not sick of them at all. i just know you guys must have more songs since you're doing shows, that's all. it seemed like you guys also had quick access to recording equipment, i.e. your computer.
if you do a few more demos, it wouldn't hurt. the produced versions will probably sound way different anyhow. by that i mean that the will be way more polished and probably be produced with overdubs and whatnot. you guys could already be experimenting with that at home. get some ideas of what you want the final product to sound like. it will save you time and money in the studio. besides, home recordings are cool. one day you'll look back on them and probably like them the best. anything we've ever done in the studio has usually been recorded a few times at home first. i still have several old 4-track tapes with songs that we don't even do anymore.
it also sounds like you guys are taking a big step by hiring someone with a reputation to record you. i bet that will cost through the teeth. |

I agree with the paying through the teeth comment made by gorgatron... you have to be careful out there guys.... i can hear a deffinate marketable quality in your music, so you guys have to go for it, just be very aware that it is you who make the monetary sacrifice in the end not the guy who says "i love your stuff, your gonna be great, i lend you 100,000 grand to make an album"... would deffinately like to hear a nice proper recorded song from you all tho, you got a good thing going on.... keep going... (posted by FaceFitz, in full veiw of his friend(the owner of TurboGroon's account)...lol... |

Ya, your right, we are now planning to release home recordings of two of our newer songs, The Cutter and Sence The Day.
I'll tell you when they are up!
It is a big step but I really think it could be worth it! (if James will call us back lol)
And now that you brought up that point I dont think we will take any money lol
Ok, like this was started for, if you would like to be added to the station please contact gorgatron and he'll take a listen =) |

no worries guys. my real point was just that you guys should really experiment with production on you tunes before taking that big of a step. you're absolutely correct that it could really pay off, and i really hope it does. don't forget me if it happens. i helped you improve your recordings with a little technical advice, remember. just messin' with ya. but yeah, when recording, you should try overdubbing extra parts you might want or using extra guitar tracks where you basically play the same thing as on your rhythm tracks to beef them up. sometimes it can also make it sound like crap, so that's why you experiment to find out at which points it sounds good and at which points it's crap. with your music there's a lot of extra stuff you could add in for production value. it you plan on spending that money, you're definitely going to want to go all out on the production side.
don't worry about getting off-topic too much. it's my thread after all. take it easy. |

well, you make the kind of music people want to buy, you got some nice hooks, you're focused, and you've got time because you're still young. it doesn't mean you'll make it, but you've got the components to do so. stay positive like you've been doing the whole time and keep working as hard as you have been and i'd say that you've got a better chance than most. you guys also work really hard on developing a following. these are all things that put you on the path. it's a long one, though, and full of really tough choices. unfortunately, just having the goods isn't always enough, but you've got a lot going for you. i don't mean this in a condescending way whatsoever, but you're also really young. you've got a lot of developing to do. that's a good thing. the older you get, the tougher it gets. just keep plugging away, dudes. take care! |

ah, but can you play the skin flute? you could take some of our music and some of yours and do a mashup. unfortunately i don't think that we still have the individual tracks from the sessions, on the the finished product. but since it's only two guitars, i guess it would be easier than if we had drums and all that. think about it. |
