Got a couple songs up there for you to listen to, review, download, and more on my MySpace/PureVolume that I'll upload here when I get the chance.
Thanks in advance for any comments, suggestions, whatever. Also, I'll be happy to shoot a review your way if you check me out. =D |

Review: "Adventures of a Love-Struck Madman"
Good job all round. I particularly like the vocal and the placement of the different instruments.
I would say the track sounds a bit too sequenced though. Perhaps you could use more automation on the sounds and a swinging rhythm to avoid this?
Best of luck, feel free to give me a shout for the next one.
Cheers

Hi & welcome to the UBW!!!
Just checking out "This Song I Sing Does You No Justice" and I really dig the melody. Something about the synths in the background and the simple vocals really work for me. The harmonies around 3:10 are really cool.
On the constructive side, there a few times where it feels like the beats get out of synch. It doesn't last long, but it is noticeable. Not sure if you're going for that or not, but just thought I would mention it.
Looking forward to hearing more!!! |

Thank you very much for your replies!
I may indeed try using some more automation for crescendo's/decrescendo's in future songs, but I was actually going for a more sequenced style as opposed to an organic feel.
In "This Song I Sing Does You No Justice", I think I *might* know what you're talking about with the beat seeming off sync, are you talking about the couple times when it's just the kick? When I first made those sections and sync'ed em up, they sounded pretty off to me too, but I went in and made sure each kick is exactly on beat, so I think it's just the kick sound itself. When I listen to it now, I can tell it's on, but I suppose you may have to listen to it a couple times or so. =o
If you're talking about another section though, let me know so I can fix it! =x
Anyhow, thanks for your reviews, and if you ever need one, let me know. =D |

"This Song I Sing..." - well done. The vocal really fits this song well. I like how the intro builds. The electronica genre had me expecting something else so I was a bit suprised when the vocal came in. nice harmonies at 3:25. like the sawtooth like synth.
"Adventures" - like the intro on this one alot. Again your vocal fits the music so well. really nice laid bag groove with the chimes.
Your sound reminds me of some of the cool early 80s techno stuff that was going on. You have the "video killed the radio star" vibe down.
this is good. thanks for the downloads. |

"This Song.." - very nice. reminds me a lot of The Postal Service. Has that same feeling of being in motion that a lot of theirs songs do.
Great movement when the dance beat kicks in.
well done. |
