Hey guys,
if you make it to my page (unsignedbandweb.com/adam nesbit), I would really appreciate comments on either of the tracks I currently have posted.
I guess insecurity demands that I qualify the tracks with: I have been recording on an old Kiddy 'Corder mic with a program that I downloaded for free, hence the mediocre quality. In the future, once I A) invest in a better program and mic or B) get my old software running again, you can expect some higher quality music. For now though I would love some constructrive criticism!
-Thanks!

Listening to the Wash - like the intro. interesting segue into the phaser/wah. Not expected in an acoustic tune. Nice groove change at 2:00 |

I think the recording is really refreshing. Sure its a bit lofi, but in this case i think it adds a lot rather than detracting from the music. I especially like the sound of traffic at the begining of "wash me ". It gives the track a real sense of time and place. A great honest performance as well. I get a real sense of who you are. Song construction is interesting as well. I can hear a cut in halfway (which again for some reason does for me). I like the fairground organ sound at the end as well. Really great stuff. You should keep it.
All the best.

Left a comment for Parking Lot on your site, but I'll leave one here for the acoustic song.
I love the style and lyrics to it, your voice fits perfectly with it too. Sounds kinda like Bright Eyes in a way, but different.
I like how you change it up mid-way through, sounds excellent and keeps it interesting.
The only thing I wish was different is the quality, of course. The guitar quality is decent, if a bit hollow, but I wish the voice was a lot louder and better quality. :\
If you could get some better equipment or something, I'm sure it would sound much better.
Overall, excellent stuff. Let's hope you can get some better equipment soon. =D |

I'm very excited to hear the feedback! As far as recording quality goes, I definitely agree that lo-fi brings a sense of honesty to a given recording, I think that I personally just dislike the sort of underlying digitized feel that computer recording gives. I'd love to eventually invest in some older analog recording equipment. |
