Feels like this genre has really been lacking in some new original artist, seems like everyone has been taking the mainstream route resulting in some more of the same thing.
On the contrary there's some female indie music I've really been feeling because it sticks to the core of good music. Her name is Shannon Moore; her songs have lyrics you can't ignore and music thats far from generic. I got to see her perform live at my work(umgd) she also played SXSW recently, listening to her play is like having a conversation with her. You say party we say die! i believe has a female vocalists. i'm not 100% sure if they are indie though. |

Yeah, I like her. You may also like Rose Rossi. She's kinda like a mix between Fiona Apple and Gwen Stefani. It's really really cool. Check out her myspace. |

Doesn't sound that indie to me, and it's not really my thing, but I can see the value in it for others. |

scientific lifestyle...not completely female, but they do have a female singer...she has an awesome voice...check them out! |

This band is fronted by a popular singer, Sherrie Lea, flanked by two powerhouse guys, but it is indie, according to their website www.myspace.com/pandamonia, they did all the recording, and production themselves. There is an article in chartattack that they are making an independant video for lowest of the low but i cant find the song they are talking about. She is also known for being the reincarnation of Marilyn Munroe, so that will get tongues wagging, and the music is actually very good. |
