Hi y'all
Me and some mates have created the 4minuteheroes.com site. Initially we created it to be an online public tv station (we actually created it 3 years ago!)
Recently, however, we have decided to make it a place for unsigned/independent label acts to have their music videos/live recording or music played and that's where you come in.
It streams the content, so there's no download. One of the problems with downloadable sites, such as myspace, youtube, bebo etc is that someone has to search for you first. This will be like MTV and just play one video after the next, so you will be listened to by a wider variety of people. And, if you haven't got a video, don't worry, we're going to have a set of animations that can be used instead. We have a stand alone player, so the intention is for people to open the stand alone player and just have it in the corner of their computer all day.
In addition, we will have an option for users to download the mp3/4 of the track they have just seen/heard for free.
The site will be completely free for all users and artists. We are doing it because we love music.
So, go and have a look. The content is a bit low at the mo and essentially some videos from known artists (it will be unsigned and indie acts only once we get some content) and some relatively funny spoof GI Joe cartoons.
