I have some cool news you maybe haven't heard: Neil Young's official website has a section called Living With War Today , and they're accepting submissions from all kinds of original artists. They are seeking "protest or topical songs" for possible inclusion to the site.
And it's not just garage bands: J.J. Cale & Eric Clapton, David Crosby & Graham Nash, Steve Earle, Nils Lofgren, and Kris Kristopherson are among the 1000+ artists represented.
I encourage those of you who have appropriate material to contribute.
I decided to submit my song Metric. It's not a protest song, but it is topical.
(Many of the song titles listed on the site also happen to appear in the lyrics of my song.)
I was pleased that it was included. It was listed at the bottom off the list of new songs for several days.
But today it is #169. Here is a link to the song page .
Never under-estimate the "curiosity factor," I guess. |
