Hey everyone...,

What I am about to post was an experiment conducted with a friend, for a little fun... I told her we were going to make up a poem, and to start off with a line. She wrote one, I wrote one, and in the first eight stanzas, we would switch who started off after every other two stanzas. Then, we had 12 lines every three meant to rhyme, and we would just switch back and forth some more. The last three lines didn't go as planned, as we failed to notice what went wrong, but I consider it our own little quirk added in there, and decided not to change it... Here's the end product.

"Co-written Memories"
-by Jessica Tingley and Rick Strayer

Friends come and go
like the passing of shits.
-Dropping off,
but returning again.
-Creating new lives
in an oriental glow.
-Flying like fireflies
in a cloud of cruel snow.
And sometimes we wonder
who's dead; who's alive?
So we look over gravestones
as they go, by and by.
The cantaloupes give us
sweet memories
of stepping in dog shit
and sniffing the breeze.
The land was so lively,
making us gay.
We grew our souls moldy,
hairy, and gray.
The love that we shared
was like mongeese in heat,
plucking our bugs,
in a frenzy of speed.
Our memories will fade.
Our spinning will sputter.
Our scars will heal
when we bathe in cold butter.
Laying our heads down,
we'll joke about warts,
while bed bugs, knawing,
will feast and cohort.

The lesson has shown,
in the world that we wander,
footsteps are bigger than roads.
And forks to open doors
can be found all along,
in this wide world of wonder untold.
So cradle life's karma,
making your O-face,
and breathing with ease of release.
Turn your head and cough,
but don't choke on worry.
Live life to it's max.
Always remember
to take it all in,
and the rest will, in time, be unwrapped.

EnD

Keep in mind that this was meant to be fun, humorous, and non-directional. I know that parts of it are warped, but that's where the fun came in. I hope it spawned some giggles, or maybe gave the idea for other friends to try this. I have to say it was strangely enjoyable... Later!! Very Happy
