This is something I wrote yesterday morning before work. It only took about a half hour, but so far I've only felt the need to make a few minor adjustments. Don't ask me why I thought about the subject matter while I was still half asleep, 'cause I couldn't answer it myself. But it's about the way a lot of the world seems to view cosmetic surgeries as something beautiful, and in essence labeling the bodies we are given as not beautiful. It's like many younger girls are growing up listening to, and looking up to, people like Britney Spears, Christina Aquilera, or dare I say, Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton. They aren't absorbing much from the music, but rather they like to emulate their idols. So, what I'm wondering, is how will things change in the next decade or more? Will the number of cosmetic surgeries sky-rocket? I honestly think it will, because looks are already nearly everything to people... I, for one, don't give a shit, and it pisses me off.

"Cut and Sew"

Sanitize the scalpel (sp?).
Utilize the staples after lipo.
Insert the silicon.
Make sure the nose is chiseled away.

Forget about worth.
Forget about the heart inside.
Society wants her
to be unrecognizable.

(Chorus):
Human disfiguration...(!)
-So beautiful,
when the demolition is done.
Doctor grins.
Success is the newly transformed.
f**k what used to be.
The "ugliness" is over.

Follow up later.
Alter some more if "neccessary."
Compare the old to mold.
Make sure the truth is discarded away.

Forget about blood.
Forget about the hole inside.
Society needs her
to be their mannequin.

(Chorus)

(Interlude, envisioned.)

Observe the plastic display.
-an imitation of change and a cover-up.
The doctor walks away from
"a job well done."

(Chorus)

(Music envisioned for the Chorus accompanies the following):
Human disfiguration...(!)
Human disfigur...Dissected image.
Human cultivation...(!)
Pluck the pure away.

That's how I feel... Physical beauty is basically being erased. It's one of the reasons music and art are such important things in my life. People can choose not to look at art, and they can dispute it's quality too. But no matter what, all that is holds is there to be realized by those who still care to notice. Later...
