Hey everyone,
I just want to share some lyrics I just finished writing. They may look kinda' gloomy if ya' glance at 'em, but if you read it and think, and you read til' the end (more importantly), you'll see that this song is meant to be both an expression of how I'm goin' through rough times for now, and how it's all building up to a more satisfying future... This is one of those things where you write it and it makes you feel a lot better. I hope it's of interest to some of you.
"Ray Upon the Ruins"
-Rick, "RiCterMan," Strayer, fecit.
This is not my home...
This is not my life....
This is not my hole...,
but the shovel- it, in fact, was mine through time.
(Chorus):
I will not claim that ruins
of who I used to be, are me. No,
'cause it brings confusion
to me, and I'm not fine
with ruins...,
as I remain unseen.
I can't believe
all I have not achieved.
This is not my road...
I am not disguised....
This is not control...,
but it will not be the drawback, that inflicts my fate's demise, 'cause I-
(Chorus)
No one believes,
but I can feel, and I'll be free...
(Slightly long-lasting Interlude, envisioned.)
This is not my life, and I-
I am not reclined, inside.
This is not what's right.
To live is not to fight.
The love of gaining sight
is mine and I'm alive.
I'm not beyond sane mind.
(I'm) Deterred, but not resigned.
This is not my life...
This temporary slide
will launch me....
(Chorus)
(Very Short Interlude, envisioned.)
(repeated an uncounted number of times):
This isn't mine.
(Outro w/very quiet music envisioned, to accompany vocals):
This is not my home...
This is not my life....
This is not my hole...
I'm here to fill it in.
I'm here to redefine.
I'll show what's mine...
EnD
Real quick... I know there are parts to this that seem disorganized or not easy to picture in a musical slow, but it all fits. I've tested every part, and the only thing I'm not sure of is how many times that one line is repeated after the second Interlude. Hopefully some of you let me know whatcha' think. Later! |
