Yeah, so, I just wrote this (contrary to the first line, although that part was written in december), I hope you like it.
It’s a cold windy day in the month of December
I’m sitting here writing a letter to you
But the thoughts that I’m thinking can’t flow on the paper
They’re lost in translation, awkward and skewed
I’m trying to forget all the things that I’ve let
Slip away from my grasp and just fall on down
But autumn has passed and the colors have faded
And I find myself getting too tired of this town
So I’m writing a letter to some one that I’ve lost
Even though I don’t know who they are or their name
And I’m sitting here wondering, wandering through
All the cities and people, they all look the same
And I’m writing a letter to an addressee unknown
To let you know I’ve got a new song to sing
It’s sappy and long and heartbreakingly simple
And the best part about it is it don’t mean a thing
It’s a bright sunny morning and I’m in bed just lying
Awake between sheets staring out at the sky
And the sun has come into the room through my window
But it’s covered by clouds as they drift slowly by
And I’m lying here thinking about all my searching
Looking for a girl who’s playing hard to get
There’s something I like about the way that she smiles
Even though I haven’t seen it yet
I’m looking for someone to walk and hold hands with
To lie on the grass and look up at the clouds
Someone to laugh and to sing and to dance with
To spin round in circles, to fall on back down
Someone to hold and love and be friends with
Someone who won’t make me feel all alone
Someone to go run away and hide with
Someone to make me feel right at home
Yeah, another folk song.
