yeah id like to play some nice blazing solos, iv been playing guitar for about 3 years now but i cant seem to solo good, if anyone listens to a band called "bullet for my valentine" they have awesome solos in every song. does anyone have any tips on how to learn to play at that speed ?

Well, there are soooo many resources on the internet..
do you know how to read tab? if so...then your closer than you think,
Lots of practice.....practice....practice....and more practice...
Learn your scales......

Not that I can play all that fast (I can't), but what speed I had when I was younger was all about practice and time. You probably gotta play interesting slower solos first as you work up towards very fast speed.
I actually think some of Boston's solos are very good for a beginning soloist. They're generally within reach of a beginner with the exception of a few phrases here and there that teach a few of the tricks like hammeron's and pullofs and heavy vibrato in the context of a melodic solo. The solo in Boston's "More than a feeling" is a good example of a what I'd consider a good starter solo. |

I love the solo in sweet child of mine. It's got a great pettern that will excercise your fingers! I remember how hard it was to learn, but after MANY times of playing it, now I can do it with my eyes closed. |
