I've boiled and poached eggs in our kettle with mixed results and tried steak in the toaster once which caught fire but tasted good |

in which the water is boiled in a safe and convienient way | i'm sure we have them here, but most americans don't keep one around. when i lived in europe i always had one and they're nice for not only when making tea, but also for getting the water preheated for boiling noodles and whatnot.
as for everyone else in this thread, i strongly suggest boiling your water in the microwave! not only is it inefficient, messy, impractical, lazy, and potentially dangerous, but it is an incredible waste of energy. to boil your water using anything other than the microwave might even be considered un-american by some and, by most, unpatriotic at the very least. |

all of these are great ideas and should be further recommended. steak in the toaster sounds like adventurous, but poaching your eggs in the kettle is absolute brilliance.
christ, i wish i would have found this thread much earlier. |
